Making Science Understandable

Science impacts all of us

From COVID-19, avian flu, climate change and rising rates of vaccine preventable illnesses we are seeing first hand how much science impacts every day life and the decision people make. However, scientists do not always have the time or skills to make the work we do and its impact understandable to the public. That however, ends up being a detriment to society. Science impacts all of us in very tangible ways.

The goal of my work is to address this in three ways.

  1. Make science information understandable to the public through social media and written pieces.

  2. Provide science education and outreach opportunities to all individuals.

  3. Help other scientists see the value of science communicatiom and public outreach.
